Identity comes from understanding who you are in Christ — and I hope I can help you know Him better.

Joe serves as Associate Pastor at an international Christian church in Costa Rica, where the mission is to reach the many English speakers who live in or travel through this beautiful country. With a congregation made up of both long‑term residents and short‑term visitors, the church has a unique opportunity to spread the Gospel worldwide.
A military kid, Joe grew up across the United States—spending his childhood in the western states and his teenage years in Virginia. He earned a B.S. from Virginia Tech and later a Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (now Gateway Seminary). Before moving to Costa Rica, he nearly completed a Master of Theology but felt called to serve abroad. His ministry experience spans discipling men, biblical counseling, teaching, preaching, church systems development, and volunteer leadership.
Doctrinally, Joe identifies as a reformed Baptist, affirming the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. He holds complementarian views on the roles of men and women in marriage and the church, while remaining respectful toward those with differing perspectives.
Some of his favorite authors and teachers include C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Timothy Keller, John Piper, Mark Dever, Francis Chan, Louie Giglio, R.C. Sproul, David Platt, and Craig Groeschel. Outside of ministry, Joe enjoys good movies, time with his family, and staying active at the gym.
